Julia Roberts may have indulged in lots of pasta and wine while filming the film adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's book Eat, Pray, Love, but the actress showed no signs of the carb-loading when she stepped out on the red carpet for the movie's New York premiere Tuesday.

The actress may have opted for black, but she broke out of the basic by pairing her conservative jacket and blouse with thigh-grazing shorts.

Pairing the look with chic, strappy heels and glittering bangles, Julia shined in her low-key elegance.

Next to her side was co-star Javier Bardem in a suit and tie plus a tan courtesy of his recent trip to Hawaii where wife Penelope Cruz is shooting the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
