Are black platforms so last season? Recently we have noticed that stars have been kicking it on and off the red carpet in a fancy new footwear trend. Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Sarah Jessica Parker are amongst the trendsetters who have been grabbing our attention in brightly hued heels. Who has mastered the art of color-happy foot candy and who could use some lessons a la mode?

Anna Kendrick hit the red carpet of her latest flick Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World on Tuesday, wearing a gorgeous leopard print Marchesa mini, which definitely made us stare. The only problem? Once we looked down at her Jimmy Choo’d feet, we couldn’t get past those bright yellow, fringed “Mendez” sandals.  Leven Rambin encountered a similar situation at the Young Hollywood Awards, pairing neon yellow Jimmy Choo “Cesar” sandals with a super busy BCBG Max Azria Spring 2010 mini. What is the moral of the style story?  When a dress makes a statement, resist hautely hued footwear!

Brittany Snow popped up on our RadarOnline.com just last week at the Los Angeles premiere of Charlie St. Cloud, wearing the same Jimmy Choos as Leven, but the Prom Night beauty got the look right! The bright heels added a delightful blast of color to her black and white Christoforos Kotentos mini, snagging her a RadarOnline.com Best of the Week nod. Also using colorful heels to brighten up black and white duds, Sarah Jessica Parker had a style score with her blue Nicholas Kirkwood heels, pairing them with a zebra-print mini. Final analysis? Colorful heels + black and white = red carpet success.
