Drake's debut studio album Thank Me Later sold 447,000 copies this past week to land the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking the best debut week for a solo album since Susan Boyle's smash hit I Dreamed a Dream raced up the charts last November.

Drake, 23, is also burning up the singles charts with his new single Up All Night, which entered the charts at No. 22 with 57,000 downloads sold.

With his smashing debut, Drake bested some heavy musical hitters: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Mojo which came in second place with 125,000 in sales; and Sarah McLachlan's Laws of Illusion, which recorded 94,000 in sales.

The burgeoning R&B superstar was grateful in a post on his Twitter page, Tweeting, "Thank you for the support...thank you for the memories...thank me later.”
