"I hope this doesn't embarrass him, but my dad loves to send me e-mails, which I love, love getting" Pattinson, 24, said of his father, who is also named Robert.

The A-list heartthrob, who has been romantically linked with his co-star Kristen Stewart, then pulled out a Blackberry and began reading a message from his father about how to charm a lady (as if he really needs any help in that department!).

The letter read: "Dear Rob, I've been thinking about gestures, and a good one, in my opinion, is to kiss a lady's hand. It's very romantic and refined. Offer a hand ostensibly to shake, and then, the kiss -- I impressed your mother that way."

"Well it seems to be working!" Leno said.

Pattinson reprises his role of Edward Cullen in Eclipse, which hits screens June 30.
