Serena Williams' Charitably Chic (RED) Laces
June 29 2010, Published 9:14 a.m. ET
Serena Williams hit the court at Wimbledon last week dressed from sweatband-to-tennis shoes in red and white Nike threads. During her first round match we noticed her haute red shoelaces, and were delighted to find out that they were from the charitably chic Nike (RED) collection.
The tennis phenom is a supporter of (RED), an organization that has raised over $150 million dollars for the Global Fund in four short years. 100% of proceeds from the Nike (RED) laces, which retail for only $4.00 at all Nike retail locations, will be donated to support football-based programs to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.
