Jersey Shore's Snooki is currently trying to eat herself thin on the Cookie Diet to lose 10 pounds and get back the body she had as a high school cheerleader, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that this isn't the first time the reality TV star has gone to extremes to lose weight.

A childhood friend who attended Marlboro High School in Marlboro, New York with pint-sized Nicole Pilozzi, now 22, said she stressed about piling on the pounds as a teenager.

"She was always concerned about her weight," the pal told RadarOnline in an exclusive interview. "She would get hungry but instead of eating she'd suck on ice cubes for hours to avoid gaining weight."

As one of the shortest members of the cheerleading squad, Snooki felt pressured to stay skinny so that her taller teammates could easily toss her in the air.

Currently weighing in at 110 pounds, she's reliving old fears of getting fat and is now following Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet, which involves eating six 90-calorie cookies a day plus a small meal a day. The cookies are high in protein and control hunger to aid weight loss.

"I used to be fit. Now I look at myself and I'm like, "What the hell happened?" she told Us Weekly last week.

With her love of flesh-baring outfits and skimpy clothes, it's not surprising that Snooki worries about staying slim - she likes to leave nothing to the imagination!
