It might be out of respect to Sandra Bullock, or it could be because of his own well-documented liaisons, but David Letterman hasn't tapped into potential comedy treasure chest that is the Jesse James cheating scandal -- until now.

On Monday's The Late Show, Letterman cracked a joke at James' expense.
"According to a new study, human beings bred with Neanderthals," Letterman said. "Well, that certainly didn't work for Sandra Bullock!"
As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Letterman had to juggle his own scandal last fall, coming clean on his show that he cheated on wife Regina Lasko with a staffer after an ex-CBS producer blackmailed him with the information; he dubbed his infidelities "stupid behavior" in an interview last month.
