Controversial celebrity artist Tyler Shields has sold one of his images for one million dollars, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
Shields – whose edgy blood splattered gun toting shots of Lindsay Lohan hit the headlines last week – received the huge bid from an anonymous Silicon Valley computer mogul on Saturday night.
The multi-millionaire bought The Collision series reflective image of Shields kissing Vampire Diaries actress Candice Accola.
Shields told RadarOnline.com: “It was amazing. I got the news from my art dealer that somebody had offered $1 million for the image on Saturday night.
“I was in the middle of setting-up a shoot, so it didn’t really register with me at the time when we accepted the bid.
“We took the image back in July 2009 at The Four Corners where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona all meet.
“At the time we did not think that it would be worth so much money but that is the amazing thing with art - nobody can predict its real value.
“The buyer really wanted the photograph, so, he believed that it was worth that amount of money.
“I intend to use the money to make more art and to invest in a charity or something in New Orleans as I was really affected by Hurricane Katrina.
“I still have the check – the truth is I have been to busy to put it in the bank!”
The hip shutterbug is rapidly becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought after celebrity photographers.
Shields along with Star Trek star Zachary Quinto is filming documentary style footage to chronicle the making of his upcoming book The Dirty Side Of Glamor in which Lohan will appear alongside the likes of Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere, Kellan Lutz and Quinto.
He recently defended the release of his blood splattered photographs of Lindsay Lohan - who was supposed to appear at his exhibition in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
The shocking photos show Lindsay wearing bright red lipstick, sky high heels, a see-through bra, underwear and black sheer stockings. In some photos exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com, she is holding a gun to her mouth. In others, she has fake blood on her hands and is lying against fake blood splattered on the wall and floor.
He added: “Lindsay had to go to New York on some family business but we spoke over the weekend and she sounded great.
“We are planning to take some more images of her in the future that will be part of our Collision series too.
“I’m really excited about what is happening right now and the doors that my work is opening up for me.”
