For once Crystal Bowersox wasn't the clear front runner, giving a relatively lack lustre performance. Stepping up to the plate though was Kara's cougar favorite Casey James, giving what Randy said was, "One of the best Casey James performances ever" and Ellen judged as, "Your best performance to date." Even Simon raved that Casey gave his "best performance so far" with his take on the Shania hit, Don't.

Siobhan Magnus also catapulted her way back into the competition with her rendition of Any Man Of Mine - all four judges raved, with Ellen providing the quip of the season so far with, "Way to pull the Shania Twain into the station." But Simon being Simon had to add that, "The end was almost like you were giving birth up there."

Pretty much guaranteeing himself a spot in the bottom three once again, and with no last minute judges' save to rescue him this time around, "Big Mike" Lynche gave a disappointing rendition of It Only Hurts When I Breathe. Though Randy, Ellen and Kara gave positive feedback, Simon hit the nail on the head, commenting, "The performance was a little bit wet. Like you were in a musical acting out the words. It was a little bit girly for you."

Also looking likely to join the bottom three, Lee Dewyze scored mixed reviews with his take on You're Still The One. Randy, Ellen and Kara gave overall good reviews, though Kara commented that Lee was pulling some pretty weird faces throughout his performance!
But acid tongued Simon slammed Lee commenting that his performance "started rough and never got any better" going on to say that it was "awful".
EXCLUSIVE: Crystal Bowersox "Determined" To Win American
Past clear favorite to win the season, Crystal Bowersox gave an overall mediocre performance compared to her former appearances, singing No One Needs To Know Right Now. Simon who has raved week in and week out about Crystal said she sounded like a "coffee shop band" and that the song was "forgettable".
