Jay-Z had a surprise for the thousands of fans at the indie-rock festival Coachella in Indio: his wife Beyonce.
With Danny DeVito and Paris Hilton in the crowd, Jay-Z delivered California an Empire State of Mind, with a thrilling performance that included fireworks and the unexpected cameo from Beyonce.
To a chorus of screams, Beyonce -- in denim cut-offs -- duetted with her all black wearing husband on "Forever Young".
Coachella continues on Saturday with a lineup that's anchored by Muse, MGMT, Dead Weather, Devo and a reunited Faith No More.
