Janet's Finally In Control: Miss Jackson's Star Style Evolution

Janet Jackson hits the big screen on Friday in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?, her first movie role since brother Michael’s death. The gorgeous superstar, who rose to stardom as part of the Jackson 5, grew up in the public eye, and was one of the first female stars to garner attention for her shocking onstage costumes. Over the years, Janet’s weight, personal life and career success have experienced highs and lows, but one thing is clear: Janet has always refused to go unnoticed.

In her younger years, Janet was famous for showing off her taut belly in cropped tops, skimpy bikinis and barely-there ensembles. Onstage, the curvy beauty rocked outlandish costumes, from cowgirl fringed leather pants with coordinating bikini-like tops to body-clinging, superhero uniforms.

Janet has always been a glam girl, wearing luxurious fur stoles with designer couture at awards shows and eloquent berets and pencil skirts for more causal affairs, while dripping in diamonds and jewels.

Recently Janet has toned down her style, settling into a look of sophisticated grace. At the premiere of Why Did I Get Married Too, she stunned in an Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 jacket, which was fabulously sculpted to flatter her figure.
