Professional dancer Tony Dovolani spent more than five weeks training with Kate Gosselin for Dancing With the Stars, and on Tuesday, he gave RadarOnline.com an exclusive glimpse into the life of reality TV's most famous mom.

Dovolani told RadarOnline.com that he learned how to keep his guard up after seeing a typical day in the life of Kate, where it's not uncommon to walk in the supermarket and see yourself on the cover of every tabloid at the checkout stand.
"Kate was so educational, actually, and in some ways, she kind of taught me that you always have to protect yourself," Dovolani told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "Part of the reason why actually she might have had a little trouble showing her emotions on Dancing With the Stars is because she always had to protect herself."

Dovolani described the constant paparazzi presence wherever Kate happens to be. "You have to watch yourself getting in the car, getting out of the car," he said. "They even documented me getting her coffee, and I didn't think that was anything."
Dovolani said he’s kept up with Kate since she was voted off, and mentioned that while she’s not depressed, she’s sad to be off the show.
Dancing With the Stars airs at 8/7c Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC.
