The 48-year-old singer, who performed her smash hit Come To My Window, and the title track from her new album Fearless Love, explained the innate messages of her latest music.
"The track that we did tonight is called Fearless Love, and the album is a collection of songs about fear and love, and the choices we have every day between fear and love," she said. "If we choose love, we can really make our lives more rich."
Etheridge, a mother-of-four, recently split with her girlfriend of almost nine years Tammy Lynn Michaels. We asked what her take was on Kate Gosselin's busy schedule, being that's she's now a working single mother herself.
"Being a mother's the best job in the world, and probably the most difficult, but the most important job in the world," Etheridge said. "You always know your children come first. They know me, they know what I do, I take them on the road with me... probably the hardest thing I do is to balance my personal and professional lives."
Dancing With the Stars airs at 8/7c Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC.
