Remember Ron Howard’s 1989 hit movie Parenthood? It featured a stellar cast including Steve Martin and a young Keanu Reeves. It touched our hearts with the stories of the Buckman family’s attempts at navigating the ups and downs of marriage, relationships, dating and of course parenting. Then Parenthood was back as a very short-lived sitcom in 1990 with none other than Leonardo DiCaprio and David Arquette. Well, Parenthood is on primetime yet again as a one hour drama premiering on NBC on March 2nd at 10pm ET. This time the show focuses on the Braverman family and the ways their colorful lives intersect and affect each other. With an impressive cast that includes Coach’s Craig T. Nelson, Gilmore Girl’s Lauren Graham and Six Feet Under’s Peter Krause, looks like the latest small screen version may be a hit! We know you’re going to want to watch -- after all, who doesn’t relate to that aggravating mix of drama and love that family brings to your life? So, with such a big ensemble cast to follow, here’s your guide to the relatable characters they each play.

Sarah Braverman (Lauren Graham): She’s the second oldest of the Braverman children. Recently divorced from her deadbeat husband and now a single mother to two teenage boys—she kicks off the series by moving back home to give her kids a new start. But, moving in with mom and dad at 38 is about as awful as you might imagine . . .

Adam Braverman (Peter Krause): He’s the overachieving, first born child of the Braverman clan and everyone expects him to be their rock. They just assume with his stable family that includes a wife, teenage daughter and eight-year-old son that he always knows the right thing to do. But those expectations cause him to harbor a lot of anxiety—especially when his son is diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome.

Kristina Braverman (Monica Potter): She’s Adam’s wife and an optimistic and much-loved part of the family. But it’s hard to stay positive when she has to put her plans on the backburner to go back to school to deal with the emotional problems of her son. And the stress definitely puts a strain on her marriage.

Julie Braverman-Graham (Erika Christensen): She’s the “Golden Child” of the Braverman siblings—a high power attorney with a great husband that is a stay-at-home dad to their daughter Sydney. But as most “Golden Children” tend to be—she totally is type-A and uber competitive when it comes to parenting—especially since she’s at work way more than she’s home and puts pressure on herself to make up for the missed time.

Crosby Braverman (Dax Shephard): He’s the baby of the Braverman kids and lives up to that role. At 31, he’s still coasting through life with no ambition or goals—just relying on his charm to get him by. His girlfriend, however, doesn’t exactly find that act endearing and is itching for him to settle down!

Zeek Braverman (Craig T. Nelson): He’s the earnest patriarch of the Braverman family. He’s tried his hand as a Vietnam war vet to an actor and entrepreneur—nothing has really made an impact except being a dad and grandfather. He’s there for his children when they need him—even when they’re not sure how he’ll react to the unpredictable circumstances in their lives!
