Las Vegas For Grown-Ups: Spa, Shows and World-Class Supper

For anyone who hasn't been to Las Vegas lately, here is one tip before you go: it's grown up a lot in the past few years. Once known as a decadent playground for all things sinful (think strip joints and $5 strip steak With your slots), The Strip still offers an adult playground but one now complete with world-class shows, world-class restaurants, and elegant luxury.
So what to do if you find yourself amidst the bright lights but without the will to club hop or hit the gaming tables?
How about a little spa action paired with a delicious meal and award-winning entertainment?
While the high-end shops (think Jimmy Choo, Fendi and Christian Louboutin) of The Palazzo offer plenty of distraction, the hotel's 134,000 square-foot Canyon Ranch SpaClub is a crown jewel for the property.
Taking relaxation to another level, the Zen-like atmosphere of the space is unparalleled.
The attentive staff cater to your every need and the waiting room your placed in before your services sets the right mood: You can grab a piece of fruit and a refreshing sip of tea while lounging on one of the many chaises separated from one another with elegant shades. It's a private pod of peace one should take ample advantage of before a massage appointment!
The spa also boasts the Aquavana: an area with a grab bag of wet spa offerings. There is an Herbal Laconium (a ceramic-tiled room with individual heated seating "throwns") and the Igloo (which has three "Artic mist" experiences--- it's a shock to the system, but a delightful one in the end).
There are also Experimental Rain Showers (which has different lighting and sound schemes) as well as water plunges whose temperature you can control.
All-in-all, the Canyon Ranch SpaClub is an other-world experience that transports you to the upper reaches of relaxation and calm.
Feel the need to kick up your heels? What about dinner and a show? The Tony-Award winning Jersey Boys has made The Palazzo a major entertainment destination. The Broadway production- with it high-energy, smart and interesting stage production- is a perfect fit for Vegas.

But before you head into the auditorium to get swept away by The Four Seasons of New Jersey, fill up (appropriately) on delicious Italian food with American flare at Lavo. The hip hot spot (which is a stomping ground for celebrities including Christian Aguilera, Kim Kardashian, Fergie and Jay
Z) serves up helpings of the finest feast around. The lounge-like space (black banquettes, sleek lighting, DJ'ed music) of the dining room makes you feel like an instant VIP. Careful, you may just start dancing in your seat between sips of fine wine and mouthfuls of lobster and aromatic pasta.
The restaurant allows you to dip your toes into the nightlife without having to fully dive in.
Still, the large helpings and relaxed but social ambience immediately put you at ease, making you feel like you are dining in someone's home, if that someone were along with lines of luxe Sean Combs of course. At Lavo, the yummier vices (good wine, delicious food, decadent desserts, and friendly, world-class service) are available in spades.
Here, indulgence and luxury are paramount. Whether an intimate dinner for two or a pre-night out meal with friends, this is latest place to see and been seen.
