Countdown To Oscar: Meryl Streep's Star Style Evolution

Meryl Streep has years of red carpet experience under her belt. The seasoned actress, whose flawless performance in Julie & Julia earned her an Oscar nod this year, is traditionally a devotee of belted frocks and little black dresses, but this awards season she livened up her look, wearing brightly-hued and patterned numbers on the red carpet.

Just because Meryl is mature, it doesn’t mean she is going to let all the younger starlets have all the fun! The red carpet of the SAG Awards in January was a sea of monotone, but Meryl shocked fashion critics, stepping out of her comfort zone in a multi-colored, metallic belted, Fall 2009 Balenciaga floorlength dress. A few weeks later, she wore a brown and teal ensemble to the Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon.
