Olympic snowboarder Shaun White, whose cringe-worthy/championship efforts at last week’s Winter X Games are the buzz of the Internet, appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman Tuesday and discussed his recent incidents revolving around a 1260 trick he calls the Double McTwist.

On a practice run Friday, White, revolving through mid-air, caused a major scare when he didn't clear the lip of the super pipe, smashing his face and hands on the edge.

"I was sitting there like, 'I really wonder what that blue die on the wall tastes like,'" White said, while watching the scary collision again.

White, 23, amazingly recovered, and attempted the snow stunt one more time an hour later, his second try flawless, graceful and good enough to win him the competition.

"That's amazing," Letterman said, watching White revolve in mid-air. "It's like looking at something from space."
