Rivalry is usually rife between competing Kings of late night, Jay Leno and David Letterman. But the chat show hosts buried the hatchet - at least temporarily - on Sunday, and paired up along with Oprah Winfrey, in an ad that ran during the Super Bowl.

In a somewhat awkward ad Letterman sits on a sofa munching on a big bowl of chips, he bemoans, "This is the worst Super Bowl party ever!"  Oprah, who is sitting next to him, chides him before the camera pans to the other end of the sofa where Leno sits also eating chips, he retorts that Dave, "is just saying that because I'm here!"

The ad was a reprise of a 2007 ad that Letterman filmed with Winfrey and obviously poked fun at the long standing rivalry between Leno and Letterman, which dates back more than 15-years and was recently revived during the Conan Leno battle for The Tonight Show.

NBC Exec: Conan, Letterman "Chicken Hearted", "Gutless" In attacks Against Leno

In the days leading up to Conan's eventual departure from The Tonight show, which paved the way for Leno's triumphant return,  Letterman never missed an opportunity to rip Leno, at one point calling his behavior "vintage Jay".

Bizarrely, the commercial was for Letterman's show, which Leno will soon compete directly against once when he returns to his 11:30 slot following the Olympics.
