Dr. Conrad Murray's legal team is still waiting to receive the full evidence and discovery, relating to their client's case, according to Michael Flanagan, one of Murray's attorney's. "The only thing we have received is a 25 page summary of statements from various witnesses and experts that the LAPD talked to. We don't have those full statements, which were tape recorded, nor have I received the official autopsy report," Flanagan says.
"I really don't know much about the case because of the lack of information. This was an eight month investigation. There is a lot of information, and they are being a little bit secretive with the information. David Walgren the prosecutor told me he would call me when the discovery was ready which he said could take a few weeks. I don't know if I can go down there with my car and pick it up, or if I need a moving van," Flanagan laments.
Dr. Conrad Murray will be back in front of the judge on April 5th, at which time a date is supposed to be set for the preliminary hearing. "We will be hard pressed on April 5th to set a prelim date because we will most likely still be getting discovery. We want to get ready as soon as possible, but without the discovery, it's next to impossible," the powerhouse attorney says.
The decision to put Dr. Murray on the stand probably won't be determined Flanagan said until the defense is ready to present their case during the trial, "We just have to see where we are when we are ready to present our case about putting Dr. Murray on the stand," Flanagan asserts.
Calls to the DA's office were not returned.
