Jan. 26 2010, Published 8:10 a.m. ET
Jay Leno didn't mention Conan O' Brien, David Letterman or any other late night rivals during his Monday night monologue on The Jay Leno Show, saving his biting humor for a usual target: NBC brass.
Leno relayed to his audience how singer John Mayer, in a recent Rolling Stone interview, confessed that ‘pleasuring himself’ got him out of many bad situations.
"I think he has what it takes to be an NBC executive!" Leno joked.

Leno will appear on the The Oprah Winfrey Show Thursday, in a taped interview in which he addresses allegations he pushed O'Brien out of the coveted gig. Leno tried to put out the public relations fire on his show last week in a speech in which he gave his side of the complicated shakeup at NBC.
Leno returns as host of The Tonight Show on March 1 after NBC completes its coverage of the Winter Olympics.
