Scottish songstress Susan Boyle, affectionately known as SuBo, returned to her rural home in Scotland Thursday after a whirlwind visit to the United States that included taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
The 48-year-old I Dreamed a Dream singer smiled for the waiting paparazzi in front of her home in Blackburn, West Lothian -- a sharp cry from her much publicized meltdown last year when she became an overnight worldwide sensation after wowing the judges and audience of Britain’s Got Talent.
2009 was an amazing year for Boyle. Within a week of her audition on Britain’s Got Talent last April, her performance was viewed on the internet more than 66 million times, setting an online record.
In December 2009, her audition was named the most watched Youtube video of the year with over 120 million viewings, more than three times higher than the second most popular video.

Still, no one can stay on top forever: Boyle’s reign at the top of the US album chart was recently brought to a close by none other than party girl Ke$sha.
Ke$ha’s TiK ToK single was the second most downloaded song in 2009, and her debut album Animal sold 152,000 copies last week.
