Socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reunited for a sad cause, meeting up Tuesday night in Los Angeles to mourn the passing of mutual pal Casey Johnson, the Johnson & Johnson heiress found dead at 30.

Hilton and Richie, who starred in the hit reality show, The Simple Life, have kept publicly distant from each other for years.

"Been a sad day. But my sister made it better by having all of Casey's close friends come over to her house today to be together," Paris Tweeted. "It was nice to get together and share our feelings and memories of our dear friend. We celebrated her life, we all miss and love her so much."

Nicole, apparently too distraught to Tweet, had not posted any messages on her Twitter page since news of Johnson's death reverberated throughout Hollywood.

Johnson was well-liked in Los Angeles and was good friends with Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. She also was romantically involved with celebrities from time to time, including reality TV star Tila Tequila and Yahoo! heiress Courtenay Semel.
