Nick's older brothers Kevin and Joe have dubbed him "The President" and have often claimed that he will run for office in the year 2038. Nick admitted that those political aspirations inspired much of his current music.

"The original secret name for this project was 'The P.O.T.U.S. Project,’ Nick said during an interview on Radio Disney Total Access Weekend. "Obviously we decided not to call it that... but when it came to the song writing, we felt that that could be the outlet where we could use these presidential concepts and tie it all together to make a record that was just personal and real to me."
Nick also opened up about having to adjust to road life without the companionship of his siblings: “I'm so used to being with my family and brothers all the time and for a good portion of this tour it was just me... I just try to find ways to occupy my time, but that's been the most difficult part. Other than that, the shows have been great and they've been able to come out to a bunch, so it's been fun."
His band will wrap up their tour on January 30 at Zellerbach Auditorium in Berkeley, California.
