Pop star Katy Perry has dismissed rumors that she is expecting a baby with her British fiancé Russell Brand.
Rumors had been swirling that the pair – who have only been dating for five months – were about to have a baby after they were spotted checking out baby clothes in a London kids boutique called Cubs.
But Perry killed the rumors by confessing on her Twitter page that it was her time of the month by saying: "@thedoctoluke ur gonna make me cry, maybe that's my period tho. THAT'S RIGHT I'M BLEEDING. Face. Better luck next month peepz."
Speculation the 25-year-old is carrying 34-year-old Brand's baby also spiked after she posted a series of hints on her Twitter page recently.
One tweet read: "Just so you guys in LA that you guys are about to experience 2010 … It’s noon on January 1st here in the future – let me tell you 2010 is BUMPIN!"
And Perry also posted a series of cryptic Twitter messages hinting she was pregnant - the day after her New Year's Eve engagement in India, the singer wrote: "Let me tell you 2010 is BUMPIN!"
And few days later, she wrote on Brand's page: 'Hey @rustyrockets (Brand's Twitter name) I heard ur prego-ed.'
Recently scruffy star Brand admitted he wanted to start a family while appearing on Britain’s GMTV television show, he said: “I want to have children - that would be good.
“I thought I was promiscuous, but it turns out I was just thorough - to get the right one. I'm ever so happy.”
The couple first met over a year ago at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and already kissed on-screen for a film before their romance.
Katy puckers up with Brand in a cameo role in his new film Get Him To The Greek, which sees the comedian reprises his role as womanizing rocker Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
After several meetings, the pair finally got together at an after-party for the 2009 MTV VMAs in New York on September 13.
Brand proposed to Katy with a Cartier diamond ring on New Year's Eve in the gardens of the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur, India.
