Prior to her arrest, the deputy said that he followed her for a quarter mile and estimated she was driving 58 mph in a 50-mph zone in her silver Mercedes.
When she pulled over, the deputy approached her car. As he checked her driver's license, he smelled pot in her vehicle.
Namath was traveling with two men. The deputy, accompanied by another who arrived shortly after the traffic stop, asked them all to get out of the car and began a search.

The deputies found a bag of marijuana on the driver's side floorboard and later, when searching the trunk, they found another 200.5 grams in baggies. They also discovered an opened bottle of Captain Morgan rum and eleven Miller Lite beer bottles.
Namath "denied any knowledge" of the marijuana, though she said no one else had access to her car trunk, according to the deputy's report.
She was arrested for possession of marijuana, intent to sell marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor.
