Jessica Simpson is back in fighting shape again and she’s crediting boxing as having helped her get back in tip-top shape.

The Dukes Of Hazard beauty - who was infamously photographed wearing a pair of ‘mom jeans’ after she put on some weight – sported a form flattering black dress when she stepped-out in Los Angeles Wednesday night for a dinner date with friends.

Jess recently Tweeted: "Boxing has changed my life! I have so much energy and it has cured my insomnia.

"Although I don't think I can get out of bed I'm SO sore."

Simpson - whose body has come under media scrutiny throughout her career - is reportedly getting ready to make a return to reality TV.

According to reports a show is in the pipeline which will "focus on how different societies view women's bodies, and what women do to feel beautiful".

And with Jessica hitting the punch-bag trying to get back in shape, it looks like her own weight issues may finally be behind her.

Simpson – whose former loves include Nick Lachey, John Mayer and Tony Romo – has recently been linked with Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan.

Corgan, 42, and Simpson, 29, were first spotted in New York together last month and have reportedly been working on some music together during some recent visits to a studio.

Simpson herself posted an image of Corgan, herself and producer Kerry Brown on her Twitter page at the studio with the pair reported to be planning to make a single together.
