Telethons are so 2009. The Celebrity Tweetup for Haiti, a cause in which celebs rally their Twitter followers to make donations to earthquake relief efforts, is inviting everyone to visit their station, the Tweet House, in Park City, Utah during this month’s 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this crisis," LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow, Star Trek: The Next Generation) who is co-hosting the Tweet House, told exclusively. "I know from experience that members of the entertainment community can be counted on at times like this, and my partners and I are dedicated to doing what we can".

The event's organizer, The Parnassus Group's Steve Broback, told that the Tweetup event was initially geared towards celebs spreading the word about their favorite causes, but "with the recent happenings, we felt compelled to focus exclusively on the pressing needs of the Haitian people."

Proceeds gathered from corporate sponsors of the event will be forwarded to earthquake relief efforts.

This year's Sundance festival runs from January 21-31, in Park City Utah.
