Two and a Half Men's Jon Cryer told authorities that he suspected that his ex-wife hired a hit man to kill him. But RadarOnline.com spoke to Sarah Trigger's attorney Vicki Greene who says Cryer's claim is a publicity ploy.

"Maybe he's tired of Charlie Sheen getting all of the attention," Greene told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "None of this is going on."

The CBS show saw a spike in ratings after Sheen's holiday arrest in Aspen for allegedly getting violent with his wife, Brooke Mueller- a fact not lost on Greene who hinted ratings may also be another reason for Cryer's comments.

"Obviously this is not true," Green continued. "I can't even believe this whole story. It's a fabrication of his imagination."

"I mean it's ridiculous. This is the father of her child-why would she do this? It's crazy, totally crazy."

Last Friday, the set of Two and a Half men was flooded with security and the show was taped without a live audience. An investigation into the threat to Cryer continues but Greene says Trigger is not part of it.

"There is nothing going on... I mean there's no FBI investigation that I'm aware of and I'm her lawyer."
