Nicole Richie To Star In New ABC Comedy

Nicole Richie says she will star in and produce a new sitcom for ABC.
Richie, who made the announcement via her Web site on Monday, says the show's main character is a young professional woman caught in the battle between modern and traditional women's roles.

"Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life," she wrote. "It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman’s role should be in this era. I’ve taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We’re still in the very early stages and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!"
Richie has two children with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden: 22-month-old daughter Harlow, and infant son Sparrow, who was born this past September 11.
