Though they got married in October, busy newlyweds Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner didn’t have time for their honeymoon until this holiday week. However, their plans of an African safari got off to a rocky- and snowy- start.

Trump gave a play-by-play of their delayed adventure on her Twitter page, starting with their delayed flight on Monday which resulted in a little bowling action. “Our flight was so delayed that we’re leaving the airport for a few hours and are going bowling in Newark! Nice.” So how did the two Ivy League graduates do? Not so well according to a picture of their scoreboard she posted which included weak mid-game averages of 42 and 33.

The couple did eventually make it to a layover in Amsterdam but were greeted with more bad news: they missed their connection and lost their luggage. The improvising couple quickly snagged “two hats and cheap coats at the airport” since their safari gear wasn’t enough to keep the chill away. After the help of a “customer service goddess” named Wendy, the couple was off again! Their final stop? Cape Town.
Ivanka Announced Her Engagement On Twitter
“Excited to begin our 24 hour adventure...despite some set backs, we're going to make the most of it. After all, its still our honeymoon!” the upbeat Trump wrote. She added: “No luggage, no plans... no problem. We had an amazing time in Amsterdam. Our ‘urban’ safari.”
With that type of optimism, we think this couple has what it takes to go pretty far. Happy honeymoon!
