Penelope Cruz is many things -- an award-winning actress, a beautiful cover girl, and a fashion designer -- but one thing she isn’t is a pro in the kitchen.
“I can cook a little bit. I can cook a few Spanish dishes, but it looks in movies that I cook much better than I cook!” Cruz laughed at a press conference on Thursday in Los Angeles. “The things I can make can taste pretty well but I’m not the most organized person in the kitchen."

Cruz does have some culinary prowess: “I learned to cut very fast the vegetables and I can do all of those things really well, but then I’m not that good at cooking.”

“Because of his movies I decided to find an agent and become an actress. It was really because of him.” Cruz gushed. “To be able to get to know him one day, to at least be able to go to a casting and get to meet him and thank him for the huge amount of inspiration that I felt from his work.”
Broken Embraces tells the tale of a four-way dangerous love and mixes drama and comedy in a film-noir setting. Cruz plays Lena, a secretary who is also a part-time call girl and an aspiring actress.
