Jason Wu, who rocketed to style stardom when Michelle Obama danced the Inaugural night away in his stunning, one-shoulder, floor-length chiffon gown, has firmly established himself as a go-to designer for Hollywood starlets and fashionistas.
It was no surprise that several of his loyal leading ladies showed up to Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, to preview the 27-year olds' Spring 2010 Collection.
Sipping on wine and snacking on crab cakes, Jason Wu clad guests like Jessica Stroup, Katie Cassidy, Shiva Rose and Minnie Mortimer Gaghan, joined host Diane Kruger in feting the stunning collection, which was a mix of flirty floral frocks and boldly colored patterns.
After the preview, Neiman Marcus, Vogue, and actress Dianne Kruger, hosted an exclusive dinner party for the prodigious designer at West Hollywood hotspot Palihouse.
Wu got his start as a designer at the age of 16, when he was hired as a freelance doll clothing designer for Integrity Toys He later went on to intern with Narciso Rodriguez, before launching his ready-to-wear collection in 2006. After winning the Fashion Group International's Rising Star award, he began attracted a chic and fabulous following, which includes the First Lady, Amber Valletta, Jessica Alba, and Leighton Meester.
