Rachel Zoe Project Recap - Season Finale - Oct 12th 2009

The Rachel Zoe Project ended last night and we have to say—it didn’t exactly leave us quivering in our stilettos. It was pretty anti-climatic to say the least.
Brad barely had a storyline in the episode—or it seemed much work to do either. No wonder Taylor is perpetually rolling her eyes at him. Brad’s main plot point was his obsession with showing off his bare legs in short shorts. Oh, and fawning over half nude models that came by the studio for a casting call. And making sure that Tay wasn’t mad at him for going to Paris. Remember, even though Rachel told Taylor to decide who should go and even though Taylor was the one that chose Brad—Brad was supposed to decline the invite but didn’t. Do you blame him? Really, who would turn down a trip to Paris fashion week? Well, except for Tay . . .
So, with that said, Tay took a lesson from the Rachel Zoe School of Passive Aggression and ignored Rachel’s calls when she returned home from Paris. Finally, Tay confronted Rachel in person. Besides whining about her own stupid decision not to go to Paris, Tay made it clear to Rachel that she wanted to move away from styling and get involved with brand development or she would leave the company—for realsies this time. Rachel blamed the recession on her company not growing as big as Martha Stewart’s empire. But, miraculously, it just so happened that the very next day Rachel was getting on a plane to NYC for meetings about a Rachel Zoe fragrance and a Rachel Zoe product line on QVC. Thank goodness Rachel had these meetings set up and could invite Tay to show her that she was serious about keeping her on board. Of course, Tay was not completely sold that Rachel would do right by her—but went with her to NYC anyway. And of course we don’t understand why Tay wasn’t invited sooner . . .
After a whirlwind trip to NYC, Rachel is back and prepping with the gang for a high fashion, couture shoot for V magazine. It featured hot, new model Jessica Stam posing in Xanadu style clothing while working out at the gym. With 48 hours to prep for such an elaborate shoot—Rachel starts to panic—and her vertigo (which was nowhere to be found in Paris or NYC) miraculously comes back in the form of a sinus migraine. Her dad comes to town and she complains to him that her vertigo makes her feel like a failure. She complains to Tay too while en route to the V magazine photo shoot but Tay is more interested in her Blackberry and could care less.
The rest of the episode features Taylor complaining—a lot—like more than usual. She knows she’s bitchy and moody but her job makes her be that way because she picks up everyone’s slack. Tay even has to enlist her parents to help her with unpacking a sky-high stack of boxes at the studio on a Saturday morning because Brad and the other assistant are MIA as always.
Meanwhile, Rachel is back at the doctor’s office to find out why this vertigo just won’t stop plaguing her. As always, Rachel shows up looking like she’s ready to star in her own fashion photo shoot instead of knocking at death’s door. The doctor lays it on the line for her—Rachel has to stop working so hard or she’ll never get better—and her hubbie Rodger concurs.
So, what’s the solution? It was a tense commercial break as we waited with baited breathes to find out just how Rachel was going to solve this conundrum! Was she going to shut her company down or let her vertigo continue to rear its ugly head?
Finally, Rodger and Rachel call Brad and Tay into a very important and very serious meeting. Tay had to have some control and refused to take off her sunglasses during this very important, very serious and indoor meeting. She probably wanted to reserve the right to roll her eyes. So, after some very dramatic pauses, the big announcement about the future of Rachel Zoe, Inc was made. Drum roll please . . . Rodger will now head up the day-to-day business and in turn be Taylor and Brad’s boss. It was also announced that this meeting didn’t really affect Brad because he doesn’t complain like Taylor. And, with that said—Taylor got her wish and was promoted to Head of Product Development. This all happened because Rachel feels way too stressed and way too overworked—plus we can't forget that she's battling vertigo. But, Rachel made sure that everyone knew that even though Rodger was now Brad and Taylor's boss—Rachel was still Rodger’s boss.
Don’t worry Rachel, we never for a minute doubted that you would end the second season of your show by letting your husband show off his manhood in any way!
