Kate Gosselin Worries About Scrutiny On New Romance

Kate Gosselin has always been one to look at the bigger picture. Now with her divorce proceedings with estranged husband Jon proceeding, the mother of eight has begun to contemplate about how her newfound fame would affect any future romance.

When asked by Ellen DeGeneres whether she worries how the spotlight on the Gosselins would affect any new relationship, Kate responded: "I am. I'm not thinking about it, but the thought has crossed my mind that at some point it's going to be scrutinized."

In her quest to move forward, Kate has had a lot of explaining to do to her children, including fielding their questions about why she no longer wears her wedding ring.

"I was wearing it. At some point, I talked to the kids -- it came up very naturally -- and I said, 'I'm not going to be wearing this ring very much longer.' They said, 'Oh, why?' I said, 'Because I'm not going to be married to Daddy anymore,' which of course hearing that I don't think was fun for them," Kate told the talk show host in the episode airing Wednesday.

As for the ongoing fascination with her Pennsylvania family, Kate sent out a sly -- if not a bit hypocritical -- dig at Jon and his dealings with the press and paparazzi: "Well, I think certain events take place that make us sitting ducks. That makes us easy targets. Certain ones of us speak a lot; others of us prefer to keep our mouths shut."
