Elizabeth Taylor is updating her fans on a surgery she underwent earlier in the week.
"Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It's like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes," the screen legend Tweeted Thursday. "I know they all helped. Love you, Elizabeth."
Taylor, the 77-year-old star of classics such as Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Cleopatra, also used the popular social networking tool to tell her followers she was going into for the procedure.
“Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart,” she Tweeted Tuesday. “It’s very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.”
She also cleared up a rumor circulating that she was stricken with diabetes.
“I was completely honest with you about my hospitalization,” she Tweeted. “Now the press, bless their little hearts, had to add something by saying that I had diabetes, which is a total lie. But I guess they can’t help themselves.”
