There's nothing funny about extortion but the sexual hijinks that landed David Letterman in the middle of a blackmail attempt have proven to be a goldmine for other late night comics.

On Saturday Night Live, Seth Meyers worked the Letterman scandal into the Weekend Update.  He called the extortion plot a "stupid human trick," a reference to a segment that's a standard on Dave's show.

Jimmy Fallon was almost complimentary about Dave.  He said, "There is a new book out called Why Women Have Sex that says there are 237 reasons why women have sex.  And folks, Letterman knows the top 10."

Letterman had sex with at least two staffers.

Most recently, he had an affair with his assistant and occasional on-camera sketch performer Stephanie Birkitt.  She then went on to a romance with CBS producer Robert Halderman who stands accused of trying to extort $2 million from Letterman to keep quiet about the office romances.
