Barbara Streisand has always been an international superstar, but never before had the the native New Yorker legend achieved a milestone as she did this past week: Babs' new album, Love Is the Answer, currently stands atop both the U.S. and UK charts.
"I want to share that honor with all of you," Streisand said in a statement issued to RadarOnline.com.
Love Is The Answer, Streisand’s first studio album in four years is a compilation of jazz pieces produced by the incomparable Diana Krall.
With Love Is the Answer’s success, Streisand also achieves a remarkable milestone of longevity, becoming the first artist to top the chart in five consecutive decades.
"You'd think that getting the news that you've been Number One in five consecutive decades would make you feel old," said Streisand, who surpassed divas from multiple generations -- including Madonna, Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus -- for the respective top spots. "But this makes me feel young. Thank you all."
