Whatever Paula Abdul’s private feelings are about her “American Idol” replacement, publicly the ousted judge remains the picture of graciousness. Radaronline.com caught up with Abdul at Variety's Power of Women Luncheon and she offered Ellen DeGeneres some friendly advice.

"She needs to do what she does best, which is not be bothered by what anyone says and just be her charming self,” Abdul told RadarOnline.com. DeGeneres recently came under fire for her lack of experience with the music industry. “She’s going to be great!” Abdul added.

As for her relationship with Simon Cowell, Abdul noted that the two have “kept in touch.” Still, she couldn't resist sending out a jab to her former colleague for old times' sake. Reminded by TV Guide about Cowell's 50th birthday on October 7, Abdul remarked: “I think he’s turning 70. He looks good for his age.”
So what did Abdul get for the self-obsessed Cowell? “I thought of sunglasses with mirrors reflected on the inside!” Good one, Paula.
