Kelly Osbourne - Fit, Toned & Overcoming Her Demons

Dancing With The Stars contestant Kelly Osbourne is looking good these days – a sharp contrast to her wild teenage years which saw her bloated and battling drug addiction.

Shockingly, the star first tried Vicodin at 13 after being prescribed it after her tonsils were removed, Kelly reveals.

But when she started going to night clubs, aged 16, her habit started to take hold after she was offered pills by a friend.

Her confession comes in her new book, Fierce, and they are sure to upset her parents rocker Ozzy Osbourne and America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne.

“I was relaxed, tingly and happy. The next morning I called the guy and bought two or three pills for about $20,” she reveals in the book.

But her addiction really started to spiral out of control when her famous mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2002.

“I was trying to stay strong so I took Vicodin to hide the terrible sadness. But by this point, I was waking up and emptying six Vicodin into my hand. “Soon I was taking 50 pills a day. Most people would overdose on ten.”

When an anonymous photograph of Kelly buying drugs was sent to her parents home both Ozzy and Sharon amazingly discovered over 500 pills scattered around her room during a search.

They immediately dispatched their daughter to rehab and a year later she was sent to a psychiatric ward where she finally managed to control her addiction.

But although the 24-year-old has a handle on the problem she readily admits that there is ‘a strong chance’ it could happen again.

In Fierce, she also talks about what it was like growing up with her very unconventional parents which along with her sister Aimee and brother Jack led to an unconventional childhood.

They had rock band Motley Crew as baby-sitters, her dad regularly fell-asleep at a parents’ evening at their school, and he would entertain her friends by chasing them around in his underwear!

On another occasion, Sharon decided to wax her top lip when she was only 14 but when it tried too hard she removed the skin from above her lip when she tried to pull it off.

“She did eventually pull it off but half of my skin went with it. To make it worse, she was laughing so hard she weed on me,” reveals Kelly.

But having such crazy parents wasn’t all bad – when one school boyfriend dumped her for being too fat her angry mom soon cut him down to size.

Sharon Osbourne yelled: “If you don't stop saying nasty lies about my daughter, I'm going to chop your d*** off and shove it down your throat.”
