Looks like Hollywood prevailed in Michael Jackson proceedings today.
Not only has a major film studio been granted rights to air footage from the singer's final days, his children will be granted a guardian to represent their rights in such lucrative transactions.
Columbia Pictures has effectively won the coveted rehearsal footage from AEG Live, the concert promoter who had the wherewithal to document Jackson's preparation for what would have been a 50 concert stint at London's 02 Arena.

An October 30 release date was been set for This Is It, that will showcase the footage and likely other content centered on the pop king's demise.
His legacy, children Prince, Paris and Blanket, will also be well represented in other projects to come down the pipeline--Judge Mitchell Beckloff will appoint a Guardian Ad Litem, an agent that looks out for minor children in business transactions.
Their current legal guardian, Michael's mother Katherine, is said to support the Columbia deal.
