Gunfire erupted near the set of Queen Latifah and Common's new movie even before the cameras were rolling. Real gun fire, that is.

"We doubt it's connected to the film," a source close to the movie exclusively told, "But it is a little freaky. Things might be delayed a bit."

The shooting happened while the crew prepped for a scene in New York City Sunday night for the movie Just Wright.

Police confirmed to that the shooting took place at 419 West 19th Street in the Chelsea area around 5:45 p.m. Sunday near the Fulton Houses, a low-income housing development. The neighborhood is also home to the popular clubs 1 Oak and Buddakan.

Queen Latifah was to start filming with rapper co-star Common Monday. The film, a romantic comedy, is about a physical therapist who falls for the basketball player she helps recover from an injury.
