Gunfire erupted near the set of Queen Latifah and Common's new movie even before the cameras were rolling. Real gun fire, that is.
"We doubt it's connected to the film," a source close to the movie exclusively told RadarOnline.com, "But it is a little freaky. Things might be delayed a bit."
The shooting happened while the crew prepped for a scene in New York City Sunday night for the movie Just Wright.
According to reports, the victim got out of his car and began arguing with two men. A gun was pulled and several shots were fired. The victim suffered three gun shot wounds and was taken to Saint Vincent's Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Police confirmed to RadarOnline.com that the shooting took place at 419 West 19th Street in the Chelsea area around 5:45 p.m. Sunday near the Fulton Houses, a low-income housing development. The neighborhood is also home to the popular clubs 1 Oak and Buddakan.
Queen Latifah was to start filming with rapper co-star Common Monday. The film, a romantic comedy, is about a physical therapist who falls for the basketball player she helps recover from an injury.
