Michael Lohan is setting the record straight about his long-running estrangement with his daughter, Lindsay Lohan. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Lohan knocks down a recent report which said Lindsay was anything but happy to see her dad at a charity event in the Hamptons last weekend.
“Lindsay called me up and invited me to come to the event,” he told RadarOnline.com. “She told me she was going to the event and when she saw me, I walked up and kissed her and we walked over to a corner and sat down at a table together. We were happy to see each other.”
The item claims Lindsay’s bodyguard felt Lohan was stalking her and following her around the party when she clearly was uncomfortable.
Later that night, Lohan says he met Lindsay and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson for dinner. He also met Ronson two weeks earlier in Los Angeles when he went over to her house to see Lindsay and has shifted his opinion of the celebrity dj.
“I had a talk with Samantha and I was wrong, I jumped the gun,” he says of his daughter’s main squeeze. “I realized that all the things I’d heard about the drugs and the partying were a lie. I mean, she knows I’m Christian and there are certain things I don’t agree with. Maybe she was afraid that I would look at their relationship in the wrong way. But that’s not for me to judge. If my daughter’s healthy and happy and in a good relationship, I’m happy for her.”
