In the capable hands of Simon Cowell, Scottish singer Susan Boyle has finished recording the first song on her anticipated debut album.
Boyle, who became an overnight sensation via YouTube, is currently on the Britain's Got Talent tour, and took a week's rest to lay the track.
"She sounds fantastic on record," Cowell told People magazine, "she's so good, the album is not just going to be show tunes. We're going to take our time with this."

Boyle has been turning up for fans across the United Kingdom with some frequency, though a fragile mental state after worldwide attention kept her from a full commitment to the 14-city tour.
There is currently no release date for the record.
"There's no pressure on her to do this at all," a source said.
