Sun, Stars, and Fun: PACSUN Benefit for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The annual PACSUN gala, held last weekend at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach, was a glittery combination of stars drinking fanciful cocktails by the ocean, autographed goodies – including surfboards --for the silent auction and plenty of gorgeous surfers, including Laird Hamilton and his wife Gabrielle Reece.
Havaianas, signed and decorated by celebs such as Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl (she pasted flowers on hers!), Hayden Panettiere, Tony Hawk, the entire cast of 90210 and more, were a popular item to bid on.
Why surfers? Doctors discovered that saltwater has a powerful effect on re-hydrating the lining of the lungs, hence making for healthier CF patients. (While the average life expectcy has almost doubled in the past 25 years to age 37, more research is needed.) PACSUN , the popular surf, skate and clothing retailer , raised $400,000 for research last year at the gala.
