Pretty young things Rihanna and Katy Perry ran into each other at dinner in New York City on Friday evening, at swanky Philippe Chow restaurant.

Perry was in town for an engagement at the Hammerstein Ballroom, whereas Ri-Ri has just returned from London, where she popped up at the red carpet premiere for Brad Pitt's Inglourious Basterds.

Sharing a very public embrace, the girls look thrilled to see one another. It's likely been a trying week for Rihanna after former boyfriend Chris Brown spoke out about the assault incident involving the couple.
