Actress Mischa Barton is in New York Wednesday preparing to start work on her upcoming CW series The Beautiful Life. Barton arrived in the Big Apple Tuesday after leaving Los Angeles, where she had been placed on involuntary psychiatric at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for several days after LA police found her acting erratically earlier this month.

The O.C. star's status on the CW's new drama, centered around the lives of supermodels, had fallen into question after her much-publicized meltdown. Production on the show, originally scheduled to begin July 22, was delayed a week while Barton recovered, although a rep for the show claimed the delay was due to sets not being completed.

The show is slated to premiere September 16 at 9/8c on the CW.
