It didn't have the star power of the Michael Jackson memorial service at L.A.'s Staples Center but the King of Pop's hometown of Gary, Indiana did host a moving and emotional tribute to its favorite son Friday night.
Michael's father Joe Jackson was there representing the family. Joe was a steelworker in Gary before his kids hit it big as the Jackson 5. "This is where it all began," he told the crowd of 7500.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson introduced Joe at the podium. A former Miss Indiana sang and a local dance troop performed to Michael's hits, and Mayor Ruby Clay spoke of his plans for a Jackson family museum.
