Saturday night in London, on the very stage where Michael Jackson was set to re-launch his career, the King of Pop was given a fitting tribute by one of his biggest fans, Madonna.
It was the first night of Madonna's Sweet & Sticky tour's run in Europe. A few minutes in, the stage went dark and the distinctive sounds of Billy Jean filled The O2 arena. With a Jackson impersonator showing off some of Michael's signature dance moves, Madonna grooved in the background.
Calling Michael one of "the greatest artists the world has ever known," Madonna closed the tribute with a shout out - "Long live the king!"
