EXCLUSIVE: Mischa Barton's Family "Increasingly Distressed" Over Her Behavior

Now a patient undergoing psychiatric evaluation at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Mischa Barton has had her family worried sick for some

time, a source close to actress told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

"Her family had grown increasingly distressed over her erratic behavior over the past several weeks," the source said. "They are now in constant contact with the medical team at Cedars."

Mischa had a "very difficult time when she first arrived at Cedars, but right now, at this moment Friday, 5 PM PDT she is doing a little bit

better," the source said, adding that no decision has yet been made as to how long Barton will be hospitalized.  

Mischa's health problems may not be her only issue facing the former O.C. star. There may only be a probation violation from her DUI plea in connection with why the police was called to Barton's home and had to take her to the hospital under CA Code 5150.

Barton's publicist is not commenting on his client. Her attorney Anthony Salerno told RadarOnline.com, "Out of respect for her privacy, I prefer not to say anything at this time."
