Broadway Barks!, a star-studded animal adoption fundraiser, held its 11th annual event this past weekend at New York City's Shubert Alley -- to doggedly dandy results.
The benefit, held by New York show biz stalwarts Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, aims to find homes for the thousands of dogs and cats who currently call New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies home.
Memorabilia donated by Broadway performers connected with the charity was another fundraising stream the organization employed, as with proceeds from the sales would benefit local animal shelters and adoption agencies. A Cause for Paws, Adopt A Boxer Rescue, Animal Haven, Anjellicle Cats Rescue and the ASPCA were amongst the many groups represented at the event.
The performers connected with the effort included stage/screen talents such as Angela Lansbury, David Hyde Pierce, Ashanti and Rupert Everett.
